With its beginnings dating back to 1864, Stafford Cricket & Hockey Club is the county town's oldest sports club. Stafford Cricket Club was formed in 1864 followed by the formation of Stafford Hockey Club in 1874. The two clubs amalgamated towards the end of the 19th century and were based at 'The Hough' from 1894, until the club made a move to Riverway in 1984. With the move came the ownership of 11 acres of land based in the heart of Stafford. We are a proud club that boast great facilities nestled in picturesque parkland surroundings, just a few minutes' walk from the town centre.

MEMBERS LOUNGE
In February 2023 we opened the doors to our newly renovated members lounge, Bar 1864.
With the finished product exceeding our expectations, we now have a fantastic lounge/bar for all our club members, social members and public to come and enjoy all year round. Having a fully licensed bar, Sky tv, free WiFi, pool table and darts area, makes Bar 1864 a great place to come and have a drink and relax with family and friends.

OUTDOOR FACILITIES
We have a large car park area to the front entrance of the club.
Adjoining the front entrance of the clubhouse we have a spacious walled patio area, with an array of picnic tables and benches.
To the far end of the clubhouse we have access to 3 changing rooms and our
2 laned artificial grass cricket practice nets.
We have 2 expansive cricket playing fields. Both playing fields have a high quality grass square, giving us a total of 23 grass wickets. We also have an artificial wicket adjoining the 2nd square. In the winter the outfield adjacent to the artificial wicket becomes a football pitch.

SPORTS
We are a friendly, sociable and inclusive sporting club. Both clubs, cricket and hockey, are always looking to expand their junior and senior sections and new members are always welcome regardless of experience or ability. The cricket club play all their home matches at Riverway. Our hockey club play their home matches at King Edwards School.
